FAQ

What kind of projects will you work on?

We work on both fiction and nonfiction. Fiction genres we edit include mystery, psychological thriller, historical fiction, women's fiction, and romance. Nonfiction genres we edit include narrative nonfiction and true crime. If you're not sure if we're the right fit for your project, please do get in touch so we can discuss.

For non-book projects, we believe variety is the spice of life. Corporate presentations, web content, master's theses, even your speech for your cousin's wedding - we're up for anything!

What’s your AI policy?

I guarantee that my edits are 100% human. I don't use AI in my editorial work.

I believe that AI use should be disclosed, consensual, and should not be used to replace human creativity. Since AI draws on already-published material, the potential for plagiarism with AI output text is too high for my comfort level, so I won't edit projects with text generated by AI. I'm ok with authors using AI in other ways. If you've used AI in the creation of your work, please disclose the specifics of that use to me.

Do you offer copyediting or proofreading?

Not at this time. But we will be happy to recommend a good copyeditor or proofreader if that's what you need.

How much will it cost?

Cost varies per project, depending on the scope of the work. We charge either an hourly or project rate, but are always happy to work with your budget. Please visit our contact page to get in touch.

Will you help me get an agent or a publishing deal?

We can't guarantee you representation or a publishing deal, and you should be extremely wary of anyone who does. But we do believe that every project benefits from a thorough edit. The more polished your manuscript, the more likely you are to catch the eye of an agent.  In select cases, we may pass along a manuscript to an agent if we think it would be an excellent fit (always with the author's permission).
